Roka is a collection of luminaries inspired by the man-made rock sculptures found in nature.

What moves us? What stops us? What do we connect with? Who do we leave behind? Under these questions the Roka collection was born: a series of luminaires that seek to generate a unique luminous effect through a natural and singular materiality. Roka takes its inspiration from the man-made rock sculptures found in nature, an intervention in nature, by just using rocks, water and patience, generating pieces that defy laws of physics. The rocks are in constant movement, adapting to adversities, each one of them unique and unrepeatable: being this the starting point for the pieces’ configuration.

Roka centers on the harmony and balance between elements, creating unique compositions that transport the user to another dimension, thanks to the onyx’s materiality: a stone that, due to its formation, generates a one-of- a-kind pattern. Roka’s forms are an abstraction of the rock’s morphology; they were constructed using rectangles, connecting lines from the mid-points of them, generating objects that are coherent with space and time.

The collection is formed by three typologies: floor, table and ceiling lamps, each one of them carefully designed and manufactured, selecting the best materials to enhance the luminous effect that it creates when it is used with light.

Roka was designed for Galería Mexicana de Diseño, the first Mexican design gallery and And Jacob, a design brand focused on the design and manufacturing of home goods.
